Berit is looking back to a long-lasting professional career in sports. She travelled around the world with the German National Team and played in the top leagues of five different countries in Europe. When she decided to “change sides” back in 2018 she had played 59 games for the German National Team, has won a Silver Medal in a European Championship, three German Championships and one Junior-World-Championship.
Because she has learned about the connection of body and soul in her early career, it was an easy decision for her to study psychology after graduating for university in a sports school in Germany. She continuously followed this career path in parallel to her professional sports career and is happy to share her experiences now with others. It seems to her almost like a calling.
Today she is working in the youth department of Bayer 04 Leverkusen with teams and individual athletes in the area of sports psychology. Working with coaches and parents is integral part of her daily work but she is also giving Yoga classes. Besides her daily job duties Berit is working on her doctorate at the Martin-Luther-University of Halle (Saale) in the science of sports with the research focus of the psychology in team sports.
